Rumors of a strife between the current Indian captain Rohit Sharma and his predecessor Virat Kohli has always been ripe. But time and again the two star cricketers have quashed all such claims and have stated they enjoy being part of the same dressing room. One such display of warmth between the two was seen on the second day of the first Test on Saturday, March 5th.

Virat Kohli has already been felicitated by the BCCI to make the land mark Test of the star-cricketer memorable. The honors were done by the team head coach Rahul Dravid on the first day of the Test. However, Rohit Sharma the new skipper of India had some other plans.

On the second day, before the start of Sri Lanka’s batting innings, Virat Kohli as usual was one of the first players to step on the field. Soon Rohit was seen asking him to wait outside the field of play for sometime so his fellow team mates can give the former skipper a special guard of honor. Rishabh Pant was also seen asking Kohli to wait outside along with Rohit. Kohlilater thanked his captain for the special gesture.

Ravindra Jadeja Shines in Virat’s 100th Test

Kohli’s lack of century did not even end in his milestone test. Although he looked in sublime touch during his stay in the crease, he got out for 45 runs. Ravindra Jadeja though scored 175 runs taking the team total to 574 for 8. With a gigantic score on board India would look to dismiss Sri Lanka twice before the visitors cross their first innings total.
