In what comes as big news, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced their team of 2021. However, just like the Men's T20I Team of 2021, no Indian finds a place in their ODI team as well. Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has been named the captain of this XI.

Despite playing just six games in 2021, the batting maestro consistently scored runs for his side. Azam scored 405 runs at an average of 67.50 with two centuries. Paul Stirling and Janneman Malan are the openers of this side. It is to be noted that the Irish all-rounder scored the most number of ODI runs last year.

Stirling scored 705 runs in 14 matches at an average of 79.66 with three centuries and two half-centuries. In the meanwhile, Fakhar Zaman finds a place for himself as well. He was the player of the series during the away ODI series against South Africa, and scored a brilliant 193 in the second game. The middle-order comprises of the Proteas batter Rassie van der Dussen and the Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.

Wanindu Hasaranga was one of the best performers of 2021

Accompanying him would be his fellow teammate Mushfiqur Rahim, who has been named the keeper of the side. The keeper-batter scored 407 runs at an average of 58.14 with one century. After him comes Wanindu Hasaranga, who had a stellar year with both, the bat, as well as the ball. He picked 12 wickets, and also scored 356 runs.

Mustafizur Rahman and Dushmantha Chameera are the pacers in the XI. Last but not the least, all-rounder Simi Singh also finds himself a place in the side. He picked up 19 wickets at 20.15 in 2021 in 13 matches, which included one fifer as well.
