Delhi faced Punjab in the 32nd match of the Indian T20 League 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The match turned out to be one of the most one-sided affairs in the tournament so far. Delhi bundled out Punjab for just 115 runs and then chased down the target in just 10.3 overs with nine wickets in their hand.

The whole bowling unit of Delhi looked in great form as four of their bowlers picked up four wickets each. But it was the spell from Kuldeep Yadav which was the best of the lot as per the adjudicators of the match. His spell of fours overs where he conceded 24 runs and picked up two wickets earned him the Player of the Match award. Notably, Kuldeep has won the award in all three matches Delhi has emerged victorious in the tournament. This has been a remarkable redemption for the left-arm wrist-spinner, who did not get enough chances to showcase his talents in the previous two seasons while being a part of the Kolkata franchise.
In the Indian T20 League 2022 Kuldeep has picked up 13 wickets in six matches and is looking in a great rhythm. While speaking about his brilliant run in the tournament so far, Kuldeep credited Delhi’s skipper Rishabh Pant for showing confidence in him. “I have been given a lot of confidence in this ITL and I am very clear mentally as to how the batter will react to me,”- said the spinner after the match.
“I am really enjoying my bowling after a long time and the credit behind the wickets goes to Rishabh for the way he back his spinners. This gives a lot of confidence to the bowlers because he does not panic much and probably that’s a huge plus point,”- Kuldeep added.
Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant has already impressed everybody with his leadership skills in his early days. He was particularly impressive in the last match against Punjab, as he marshaled his troops brilliantly and looked in total command. Delhi will play Rajasthan in their next match on the 22nd of April, Friday.
