The 2023 ODI World Cup is all set to begin on 5 October in India as the first match will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. India last won a major trophy in 2011 and it was the ODI World Cup in India. So, fans will hope for a better show from them this time around to end the 12-year log draught.
Now, warm-up fixtures for the tournament have been announced as a total of 10 matches will be played from 29 September to 3 October across three venues; Guwahati, Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram. However, India will play against England on 30 September in Guwahati while taking on Netherlands on 3 October in Thiruvananthapuram. Teams will be allowed to field all of their 15 members on the field in these matches.
Fans can buy tickets for these games from 25 August
All matches will be played at 2 PM IST. On 29 September, Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. On the same day, South Africa will take on Afghanistan at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram while New Zealand will lock horns with Pakistan at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Then, on 30 September, the Men in Blue will take on England at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati while Australia will play against the Netherlands at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram.
The current World Champions will be in action again on 2 October when they will take on Bangladesh at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. On the same day, New Zealand will play against South Africa at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram. Meanwhile, 3 October will be the last day as three matches will take place. Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka will happen at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati while India will play against the Netherlands at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram. Pakistan will lock horns with Australia at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
