Sri Lanka and Pakistan are playing the second and last of the two-match Test series at the Galle International Cricket Stadium. At the end of Day 3, the hosts are looking in a commanding position during the match. Earlier, Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne decided to bat first after winning the toss and they posted a good total of 378 runs in the first innings.

In reply to Sri Lanka’s first innings, the visitors’ Pakistani team got bundled up only on the score of 231, and Karunaratne’s men took a lead of 147 in the first innings. Batting in the second innings, Sri Lanka team scored 176 runs for the loss of five wickets at the end of play on day 3. Now, they are leading in the second innings by 323 runs.

The Sri Lankan team is currently in dominating position during the last fixture of the two-match Test series. Senior batter Angelo Mathews scored an important knock of 35 runs at the wicket of the second innings against the visitors in the second Test match at Galle. Other than him, the in-form senior batter Dinesh Chandimal scored 21 runs in the second innings. Earlier, in the first innings, his 80-run knock helped the hosts to set a big total on the scoreboard.

Skipper Dimuth Karunaratne and number seven batter Dhanajaya de Silva went unbeaten with the partnership of 59 runs in which Karunaratne scored 27 runs alongside 30 runs from De Silva. Naseem Shah scalped two wickets for Pakistan whereas Yasir Shah, Mohammad Nawaz, and Agha Salman claimed one wicket each.

Speaking of the score line of the series, then Pakistan is currently leading the series with a difference of 1-0. Considering their position in the second Test match then it can be said the series might end in a draw with a score line of 1-1.
