Former Indian skipper and senior batter Virat Kohli has broken several records with his swashbuckling century against Afghanistan in India’s last match of the campaign in the Asia Cup 2022. Notably, it was Virat Kohli’s 71st international which came after a long wait of three years. The right-hander scored his last international century against Bangladesh in November 2019.

The 33-year-old’s century against Afghanistan has overpassed numerous records including a few for India and some international as well. With his 122-run score, the world cup winner batter has overpassed Rohit Sharma to become the highest individual T20I scorer for India.

Apart from that, he has also become the fourth Indian to smash a century across all formats of the game. Earlier, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul achieved this feat. Kohli is now the sixth batter of India to hit a century for India in the T20 internationals.

Talking about the record of most international centuries, then he has equaled former legendary Australian skipper Ricky Ponting with the number of 71st international centuries. Along with that, he has leveled the number of six T20I centuries with Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul.

The Delhi-born batter is now the second Indian to reach the mark of 100 T20I sixes after the current skipper Rohit Sharma. Other than this, he is also the 10th batter in international cricket to achieve this feat.
