In a shocking piece of news, New Zealand Cricket has released the senior pacer Trent Boult from his central contract with the board. The reason for this decision is that Boult informed about his unavailability citing family reasons. He also wanted to spend more time with the family and also showed his interest in being available for the domestic leagues and the international ones.
The board has come to take this step after a number of requests from the senior lad. After this decision, social media is filled with multiple opinions from the fans and cricket experts as well. Few experts and fans have shown their concern about the shortening of the international career due to the franchise leagues and cricket turning into a glamorous money market. They took to Twitter for expressing their opinions about this move from another senior cricketer following England’s Ben Stokes and Quinton De Kock of South Africa.
Apart from this, the 33-year-old Boult has also come up with his stand on this move, he talked on his future interests and availabilities in cricket.
I feel comfortable with putting it first and preparing ourselves for life after cricket – Trent Boult
“This has been a really tough decision for me, and I’d like to thank NZC for their support in getting to this point. Playing cricket for my country was a childhood dream, and I’m so proud of everything I’ve been able to achieve with the BLACKCAPS over the past 12 years. Ultimately this decision is about my wife Gert, and our three young boys. The family has always been the biggest motivator for me, and I feel comfortable with putting it first and preparing ourselves for life after cricket,”
Later, on the veteran also talked about the possibilities for him to play for New Zealand in international cricket after getting released from the central contract.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to this move of leaving the central contract from Trent Boult:
He must be having reasons. But i just hope he doesn't stop playing test cricket. I love watching him bowl in 5 day format. #TrentBoult https://t.co/omXQT6pu5i

He's 33. He's been an amazing servant of NZC for over a decade.
Time for him to cash in
MASSIVE NEWS in the context of proliferation of franchise cricket. Quite possible that Trent Boult will prefer ILT20 or some other franchise cricket around the time New Zealand will be touring Pakistan for Test series in Dec-Jan. More players likely to take this route in future. https://t.co/LxSGh9Xtp1

NZ Cricket doesn't have the depth to be losing players, like perhaps Aus, Eng and Ind can. The ICC needs to act and find a good compromise, otherwise smaller nations like NZ are going to struggle.

IPL spoiled cricket. now it is just baseball version of cricket. Players became dancer. sorry to say but true.
