The South African team is currently on a tour of India where they are playing the three-match ODI series followed by a three-match T20I series. Earlier, the hosts won the T20 series by a margin of 2-1 and fielded their b-string team in the ODI series against the Proteas. Notably, the visitors are leading the ODI series by a margin of 1-0 after winning the series opener by nine runs.
When everybody including cricket experts and fans is saying that it is India’s b-string team, the Proteas spinner and stand-in skipper in the absence of Temba Bavuma has something else to say. He has heaped his praises on the team India and went on to say that India has such a strong bench strength that they can field five international sides at the same moment.
Although, some cricket fans found these statements from Keshav Maharaj as the buttering of the Indian cricket Board to get a good contract in the Indian T20 League. They took to Twitter for taking a dig at Maharaj on his remarks.
Here’s how fans reacted to Maharaja’s statement:

“I wouldn’t call this a second-string Indian side and I think India is blessed with so much talent that it could field four (or) five international sides,” said Maharaj ahead of the second match of the ODI series against India.
“A lot of the Indian players (here) have the IPL (Indian Premier League) and international experience. The likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, and Sanju Samson are world-class performers,” he added later.
Speaking of the ongoing second match between India and South Africa, then Shikhar Dhawan’s men are in a commanding position against the visitors as they are comfortably heading toward the target of 279 posted by them in the first innings.
Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer are currently there in the middle for India during the run chase in the penultimate fixture of the series.
