Meanwhile, CSK star allrounder Ravindra Jadeja was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance. The left-hander came to collect his award after the match and also had some words in the post-match presentation where he finally broke his silence on batting ahead of skipper Dhoni where he revealed how he feels after hearing the crowd’s chants for Dhoni.

“I keep hearing Mahi bhai's chants. If I bat higher, then the crowd will wait for me to get out. As long as the team wins, I am happy.” Jadeja said in the post-match presentation.

Talking about the match, CSK opted to bat first after winning the toss and put up a fighting total of 167 with the collective contribution of all CSK batters. However, the quick cameos from Shivam Dube, Jadeja, and Dhoni helped them to reach the total. DC star allrounder Mitchell Marsh was the most successful bowler for the team as he picked up 3 wickets in 3 overs and conceded only 18 overs.

Chasing the target, CSK bowlers started picking wickets from the very first over of the 2nd innings. Deepak Chahar got rid of the dangerous opening duo David Warner and Philip Salt. CSK's tight fielding and brilliant bowling display never let any DC batter open their hands and resultingly they lost the match by 27 runs. Matheesha Pathirana took 3 wickets and once again displayed a great bowling performance by picking up 3 wickets. Here's what Jadeja said after the match.

"As a spinner, feels good when the ball is turning and holding. We practice here, we know what's the ideal length and pace. The visiting team needs time to adapt. We are taking advantage of the home conditions. Everyone's doing their job. We are doing a good job collectively. " Jadeja said.
