Harsha Bhogle picks T20 team of the year, only one Indian makes the list

Renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle has picked his T20 team of the year for 2021 in Cricbuzz.

Renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle has picked his T20 team of the year for 2021. There were some breathtaking performances from the players this year. While some redefined themselves, the others displayed a tremendous amount of consistency.

Bhogle has picked his team on players’ performances for the national and domestic T20 matches.

As openers, the 60 -year-old picked Pakistan-wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan and England wicketkeeper-batter, Jos Buttler. Both the players were exceptional for their respective teams at the top of the order. Rizwan created history by becoming the first batter to score 2000 runs in a calendar year.

Of these, 1326 runs have come in 29 matches for Pakistan at an average of 73.66. Meanwhile, Butter has continued to show his class for England and Rajasthan at the top. He scored his maiden T20 hundred against Hyderabad in the Indian T20 Cup and also managed to get another one against Sri Lanka in the 20-20 World Cup.

At number three and four, Bhogle has picked Mitchell Marsh and Moeen Ali. The former has redefined himself with the bat in 2021 for Australia. Coming in at number three, Marsh was the game-changer for Australia in the 20-20 World Cup. Meanwhile, Moeen displayed his all-around skills with the ball for England and CSK.

All-rounder’s Glenn Maxwell and Andre Russell occupy fifth and sixth spots. The latter had a great season for Bangalore. He ended the tournament as the leading run-getter for the team. Maxwell also was superb with the bat for Australia. Meanwhile, the West Indies all-rounder Russell continued his good work for the national team and for several T20 franchises across the globe.

In the bowling department, Bhogle opted to go with two spinners Sunil Narine and Rashid Khan. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Anrich Nortje and Jasprit Bumrah comprise the pace attack.
