The tragic demise of Shane Warne has left the cricketing world in shock. On Friday, the legendary spinner tragically died due to a suspected heart attack. Several cricketers, as well as former cricketers, went on to express their grief over the same.
Ricky Ponting, who shared the dressing room with Warne for a really long time, wrote an emotional message. He took to Twitter to speak about Warne, and drew light on his relationship with the legendary leggie. Ponting stated that it was difficult to put his thoughts into words.
“Hard to put this into words. I first met him when I was 15 at the Academy. He gave me my nickname. We were teammates for more than a decade, riding all the highs and lows together. Through it all he was someone you could always count on, someone who loved his family,” read Ricky Ponting's Tweet.

The greatest bowler I ever played with or against: Ricky Ponting
In another Tweet, the former Australian batter said that Warne was someone who was always there for you when you needed him. Ponting also called him the "greatest" bowler he has ever played with, or against. In both his Tweets, he added an image of him and Warne. Thus, his Tweet made several fans emotional.
“Someone who would be there for you when you needed him and always put his mates first. The greatest bowler I ever played with or against. RIP King. My thoughts are with Keith, Bridgette, Jason, Brooke, Jackson, and Summer,” he tweeted.

Is it to be noted that Warne is arguably the greatest bowler in the history of cricket. He has taken 708 Test wickets 145 Tests, and has also picked 293 wickets in 194 ODIs. In the process, he picked 38 five-fers in international cricket. Thus, it is safe to say that he is unarguably one of the greatest players to have played the game.
