Ambati Rayudu made headlines when he confirmed that he will be playing for Texas Super Kings (TSK) in the inaugural season of Major League Cricket (MLC). Rayudu announced his retirement from all forms of cricket after the final of the IPL 2023 with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). They defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) and it was their fifth title for them.

While it was Rayudu’s sixth IPL title. But, now, reports have come out that the former India batter is most likely to join politics. Even, Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wants Rayudu to contest in the next polls. Hearing such reports, fans went crazy and came up with some hilarious comments on social media.

In an exclusive interview with The Hindu, Rayudu claims that it would be a party or platform where he can make a difference in State politics. Rayudu also claimed that his decision of joining politics is getting backed by his family and friends. He said: “Educated youngsters should enter politics to make a difference and that thought has pushed me into this decision.”

“Some political parties have sent feelers to me and I will announce my decision in due course,” he said, adding that a progressive State like Andhra Pradesh is no more in that league, giving a hint of his next destination. “Just look at the development in Telangana. As soon as the IPL season ends, or maybe I am already into it. I couldn’t fulfill my dream of entering the Civil services due to my sports career but now there is an opportunity,” he further added.

However, after the IPL final, Rayudu said: “It's a fairytale finish. I couldn't have asked for more. I'm fortunate to have played in really great sides. I can smile for the rest of my life. All the hard work I've done in the last 30 years, I'm happy I got to finish on this note. I would really like to thank my family, my father. Without them this wouldn't have been possible.”
