However, the final decision will be taken after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Zaka Ashraf’s meeting with Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam. Babar is currently busy playing in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) for Colombo Strikers. A PCB official also confirmed that the new PCB Chairman is a big believer in having a psychologist.

Pakistan team had sessions with a sports psychologist before travelling for the 2011 ODI World Cup in India

He said: “Zaka is a big believer that having a psychologist with the players will help them, especially when they are not performing well or feeling external pressures of a tour to India. When Zaka Ashraf was Chairman (of PCB) he had got a well-known psychologist Maqbool Babri to work with the players and he also went with them to India in 2012/13.” Even, when they came to India to play in the 2011 World Cup, they had sessions with a sports psychologist before travelling. Listening to such a report, fans shared their views on social media.

Meanwhile, another report came out on 5 August regarding Pakistan’s clash with England in the World Cup at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 12 November 2023. People of Bengal will celebrate the festival named ‘Kali Puja’ on that day and hence, the Kolkata Police have cleared their stance that they might find difficulties to manage both the event and the game on the same day. It might get rescheduled to 11 November as the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) have already sent a request to the Indian Cricket Board.
