Be it taking a fifer or hitting a hundred, achieving a milestone at a young age is always a dream for any youngster in international cricket. And, if it comes in the longest format of the game, then it becomes even more special and the same happened with the Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, who smashed his maiden Test hundred against India and that too on Indian soil.

Green achieved the milestone in the ongoing 4th Test of the four-match Test series between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The star Australian all-rounder was recently in the headlines during the Indian T20 League mini-auction in December 2022 where he was sold to the Mumbai-based franchise at a whopping amount of INR 17.50 crore and, thus, became the second-most-expensive buy in the history of the cash-rich league.

Meanwhile, the final match of the series is very important from the Indian team’s perspective as they need to win the match in order to confirm their spot in the upcoming Test championship final in June. But Australian batters decided to make it a little difficult for them as they have produced a brilliant batting display, so far, in the match.

Talking about the match, the Kangaroos, led by star batter Steve Smith, won the toss and opted to bat first. Opener Travis Head got lucky when KS Bharat dropped a dolly behind the wickets but soon departed and the Indian bowlers also got rid of the No.1 Test batter Marnus Labuschagne just before lunch.

But as soon as India started hoping for a comeback, Usman Khawaja and Green dominated the Indian bowlers on Day 1 and continued their partnership till lunch on the second day of the match. Khawaja continued his brilliant form and smashed a century. He even got to his 150 in the first session on Day 2 and is now hoping for a double century.

Both stitched a 208-run partnership for the 5th wicket. R Ashwi, eventually, broke the partnership and even got 2 wickets in an over. India, meanwhile will hope to wrap up the Australian tailenders and put some good performance with the willow.
