Babar Azam is currently busy playing in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). He is the captain of Peshawar Zalmi. However, Babar has failed to lead the team so far in the right direction as Peshawar Zalmi are in the second-last position at the table, They have managed only two wins out of five games.

On 26 February 2023, Babar Azam and his men were in action against Lahore Qalandars in Lahore. The stage was set for an enthralling battle as fans were eagerly waiting to see a contest between Babar and Shaheen Shah Afridi. Both these players have shown great growth in their level of cricket in recent years.

Before the clash, reporters asked the Pakistan skipper at the press conference on his ability to meet and greet everyone with a smile and how it will be with Shaheen in Sunday's game. In reply to that, Babar Azam came up with a hilarious reply and said: "Ro kar milon unhain? Kya kare, nahi khele fir? Aap bataye…(Should I cry and meet him, or should I not play? Please tell me...)." Shaheen Afridi led Lahore Qalandars to the PSL title in the last edition. So, the pacer is also looking to defend the title this time around. Speaking of the match, Lahore Qalandars batted first and scored 241 runs for three wickets in 20 overs.

In reply, Babar Azam and Mohammad Haris came out to open the innings. But, the Pakistan skipper failed to score big as he got out for just seven runs off six runs. He managed to hit just one boundary. Shaheen Afridi rattled the stumps of Babar with a peach of a delivery and the Pakistan skipper had no clue against it. So, after such a failure and managing just seven runs off six balls, fans were not happy and slammed Babar on the social media platform.
