The 2023 ODI World Cup is all set to happen in India. So, associate nations are currently busy playing the World Cup qualifiers. On 5 April, UAE took on Jersey in the qualified play-off at the Wanderers cricket ground in Windhoek. UAE were looking to strengthen their position at the table with a win.

While Jersey were looking for two points to keep them alive in the race at the table. Eventually, UAE won the match but a video has now gone viral where Rohan Mustafa was seen with an absurd celebration with the non-striker after taking the second wicket of Jersey. Seeing that, fans went crazy and shared their views on social media.

Speaking of the match, UAE won the toss and opted to bat first. For them, the skipper Muhammad Waseem and Aryansh Sharma came out to open the innings. But, Sharma managed a two-ball duck as Julius Sumerauer took his wicket. Then, a 100-run partnership got developed between Waseem and Vritya Aravind. Waseem scored 65 runs off 52 balls, including five fours and four sixes. While Aravind scored 45 runs off 77 balls, including four fours. 

Then, in the middle order, Asif Khan scored 82 runs off 86  balls, including five fours and two sixes. After that, Aayan Afzal Khan scored 43* runs off 49 balls, including three fours while Sanchit Sharma scored 23 runs off 15 balls, including two fours and one six. Thus, UAE scored 284 runs for seven wickets in 50 overs. For Jersey, Julius Sumerauer grabbed four wickets for 51 runs in his 10 overs.

In reply, Jersey had a good start as openers stitched a 60-run partnership for the first wicket. But, after that, no batters managed to manage bog partnerships. As a result, they got bundled out for 218 runs in 44.5 overs and UAE won the match by 66 runs. For UAE, Karthik Meiyappan took four wickets for 57 runs in 10 overs. Along with him, Junaid Siddique took three wickets while Rohan Mustafa took one wicket, and Zahoor Khan took two wickets. Asif Khan won the Player of the Match award for his 82-run knock.
