India are on fire in the Asia Cup 2022 on the back of splendid wins against Pakistan and Hong Kong. The Indian squad is one of the strongest in the tournament albeit the bowling attack lacks experience. Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh went to concede too many runs in the death and the former was pretty poor with his length.

Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya took the team against Pakistan as they put up a splendid partnership. The left-handed all-rounder is one of India's prime players and has been faring out well for the Men in Blue. He played a valuable knock of 35 off 29 balls in the first match and went wicketless. However, he managed to pick a scalp to his name in the second match.
The crucial and most important player sustained an injury in the right knee and will now miss out on the rest of the tournament. The secretary of the Indian cricket board Jay Shah announced the news in a press release and Axar Patel will replace the injured player.

Ravindra Jadeja had a decent outing in the Asia Cup 2022 and his best came in the first match against Pakistan. India will miss his services given that the next rounds are crucial and they are the defending champions. The left-handed all-rounder has had a great impact on the team and it remains to see if the incoming Axar Patel can emulate the same.
Axar Patel, another Gujarat all-rounder played well for India and played well in the ODI series against Zimbabwe. He has been a part of the ODI, T20 and Test setup for the Men in Blue on the back of his good performances. The all-rounder has featured in 25 T20Is for India and has picked up a total of 21 wickets. He has also amassed 147 runs in the format and will be a perfect replacement for the star all-rounder.
Although he won't be able to replicate the same Jadeja's energy in fielding, he will look to do his best as Patel can't be undermined.
