In the second and final Test match, Kemar Roach and Alzarri Joseph rattled the top order of the Australian team. Usman Khawaja was the sole player who stood firm, fighting a solitary battle with the bat.

In his Test debut, Kevin Sinclair emerged as a standout performer both with the bat and ball. Sinclair contributed 50 runs from 98 deliveries, showcasing his batting prowess with five boundaries and a six. Additionally, the 29-year-old played a crucial role with the ball, securing the significant wicket of Usman Khawaja to provide his team with a valuable breakthrough.

The Australian opener won the 2023 Test Cricketer of the Year award and emerged as the standout batter for the hosts with a 75-run innings off 131 balls, featuring 10 fours. West Indies fightback in the second Test courtesy of brilliant bowling

Australia commenced the second Test with a 1-0 advantage in the two-match series, having clinched victory in the opening game at Adelaide. The upcoming fixtures include a brief ODI series under the captaincy of Steve Smith, succeeded by a T20I series led by Mitchell Marsh. Closing the day at 266/8, West Indies were eventually dismissed for 311, with Kevin Sinclair being the last man out. Joshua Da Silva top-scored with 79, while Kavem Hodge contributed 71 runs. At one point, the visitors were struggling at 64/5 before Da Silva and Hodge combined for a crucial 149-run partnership for the 6th wicket.
