The 54th match of the Indian T20 League 2022 is currently being played between Bangalore and Hyderabad. Both teams are in contention for reaching the playoffs and the ongoing match is crucial to both teams’ fortunes.
Earlier, Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bat first. Bangalore are playing with the same team, while Hyderabad have made two changes to their playing XI. Ahead of the start of Bangalore’s innings, the fans were looking forward to watch Virat Kohli bat.
The former Indian skipper has been enduring a lean run with the bat. The fans were hoping that he would put everything behind him and play a solid knock, today. However, Kohli, once again, got out on the very first ball he faced in his innings.
Hyderabad started their innings with Suchit in the first over and Virat Kohli took the strike. The Bangalore batter flicked the very first ball straight to the man at short mid-wicket. He did a facepalm before making his way back into the stadium.
For those who have forgotten, Kohli fell for a golden duck when these two teams met each other last time around in the ongoing season only. Kohli was dismissed on the first delivery by South African pacer Marco Jansen. Walking out to bat in the second over of the game, Kohli edged an outswinging delivery to Aiden Markram in the second slip.
With today’s dismissal, Virat Kohli’s horror run continues in the ongoing edition of the Indian T20 League. In 11 matches, he now has only 216 runs to his name at a dismal average of 21.6.
Bangalore, though, have recovered quite well, after Virat Kohli’s dismissal in the first over. At the time of writing, Bangalore have managed to score 47 runs in the first six overs for the loss of 1 wicket. Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar are currently unbeaten on 20 and 23 respectively. Here's a look at how fans have reacted to Virat Kohli's third duck this season.

#Kohli is killing himself here. Needs to take a break. A long one. Decide if this is still what he wants. Right now, he is a busted flush. #RCBvSRH

Something is seriously wrong in #Kohli’s head. He isn't the same guy he was before. From anger to frustration to embarrassment to finally sympathy, this is where Kohli’s fans have come. My heart goes out to him. Fans should not mock & make memes about him now, he needs support. pic.twitter.com/vR47QPrROe
