The Indian Team will play in the final of the Asia Cup on Sunday 17 September. One of their best players Jasprit Bumrah recently made a comeback to the Indian Team in the three-match T20I series against Ireland. Bumrah led the side and he picked up four wickets in two games as the Men in Blue won the series 2-0.

Ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023, Chaminda Vaas has fired a warning to Jasprit Bumrah. “Players like Jasprit Bumrah have a unique action, and we must protect individuals of such calibre. They can’t play in all formats. We need to identify the suitable format and manage their participation accordingly,” Vaas said in an interaction with the media.
The Sri Lankan further emphasised that Bumrah's fitness needs to be monitored so that the fast bowler will last the long haul for India. In the Asia Cup, the Gujarat pacer has not been at his best as he is coming after a long layoff, but he bowled in such a way that he caused enough trouble for batters.

Bumrah was out for more than a year due to a back injury for which he underwent surgery. The India-pace spearhead had missed the T20 World Cup in 2022, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the World Test Championship final and a few series. It was a race against time to see whether Bumrah would be fully fit ahead of the 50-over tournament but he has pulled through.
Vaas further spoke about Virat Kohli's and Rohit Sharma's exploits and what they have done for Indian cricket. The duo will be mainstays in the Indian batting lineup and will want to be in top form come the ODI World Cup 2023.
“We all know that Virat is special player and the way he performed for the last decade is extraordinary. Even Rohit, I’m pretty sure that they will give their 100% playing for India. All the fans are waiting to see these two performing. And I’m sure that they will go all out and trying to do well for India,” Vaas said.
