Rajasthan played exceedingly well in the Indian T20 League 2022 and also reached the final of the tournament. They managed to compile a pretty solid squad at the auction and lived up to all the expectations as well. Sanju Samson and Co. finished the league stage at the number two position on the points table.

Rajasthan lost Qualifier 1 against Gujarat but then beat Bangalore to reach the final. However, once again, Sanju Samson and Co. lost to Gujarat in the final and with that, their hopes of lifting the title came to an end.

Jos Buttler scored the most runs in the tournament, while Yuzvendra Chahal picked the most wickets. However, they would be disappointed to not have lifted the title. Following the defeat in the final, skipper Sanju Samson has received a lot of flak for his below-par batting performances. After playing for so many years, Sanju Samson, once again, failed to convert the starts into big scores this season.

Former Indian cricketer, Rajat Bhatia lashed out at Rajat Bhatia, calling him only the Indian T20 league player. Bhatia pointed out that Samson failed to play a single big knock in the Indian T20 League 2022 and reckoned that he is only good to play the Indian T20 League.

“He may have done well as captain but his performances were not up to the mark. He did not lead from the front. He came to bat at No.3 but did not play a single big inning. It may sound harsh but right now, Samson is only good for IPL,” said Bhatia to SportsTiger.

Sanju Samson scored 458 runs in the Indian T20 League 2022 in 17 matches at an average of 28.63. He got out in the final after scoring just 14 runs in 11 balls, including 2 fours. The other batters too didn’t contribute significantly and Rajasthan managed only 130 runs in the first innings. Gujarat chased down the score in 18.1 overs and thus won the tournament.
