The entire cricket world is still feeling the hangover from the sensational and unforgettable knock played by the former Indian skipper and contemporary batting legend Virat Kohli. Everyone is rating this from Kohli as the greatest knocks ever produced. The 33-year-old had also said that he rates it higher in comparison to his previous knocks in international cricket.

But still, former Indian batting coach and batter of his time, Sanjay Bangar has come up with completely a different opinion while talking about this. Bangar reckons that Kohli’s knock was undoubtedly one of the best and ‘special’. But he went on to rank the 70-run knock off just 30 balls from former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh in the 20-20 World Cup 2007’s semi-final, as the best knock, he has witnessed in his life. Notably, India played that semi-final against Australia.

Yuvi’s blistering knock helped India to post a decent total of 188 runs in the allotted 20 overs against the mighty Australians.

Here's what Sanjay Bangar said while comparing Virat Kohli's knock

“The best innings I feel is Yuvraj Singh’s knock. He would be No.1 on the list,” said Bangar to Aakash Chopra on ‘Betway Super Over’.

Chopra gave three knocks as the options to Bangar to decide his best including the recent one of Virat Kohli against Pakistan in Melbourne. The other two were Yuvraj’s 70 runs 30 and Virat’s unbeaten 82 off 51 balls during the 20-20 World Cup 2016 against the Aussies.  Bangar went on to pick the historic knock of Yuvraj Singh in the 2007 20-20 World Cup.

“The second one, obviously, as Kohli himself said at the post-match interview that he would rate his innings in Melbourne higher than the one in Mohali. And the kind of attack, different conditions, and the difficult conditions, I feel Melbourne would be. Chandigarh was good but Melbourne was special,” he added later.
