Umran Malik
The tearaway pacer impressed everyone with his pace during the Indian T20 League 2022. Right after the tournament, he got selected for the home series against South Africa. He also played in Ireland.
Meanwhile, it is seen that with pace, also comes big runs for the opposite teams. He sometimes has been punished for not having a precise line and length. Recently, he has omitted from the West Indies tour which indicates he might not play the World Cup.
2. Sanju Samson
The right-hander did well in the limited opportunities he has gotten this year. Whether it was against Sri Lanka early this year or against Ireland last month, he has done well.
However, it seems like the team management and selectors don't see his place in the team. The Kerala player has been omitted from the T20I squad for the tour of the West Indies
3. Shreyas Iyer
The Mumbaikar is currently struggling with form, and is also vulnerable to short-pitched deliveries. Since the Indian T20 league 2022, the pacers have been heavily exploiting his weakness.
In the series against South Africa and England, the right-hander has hit a very less number of boundaries against pacer. Readers might highly doubt that he will travel to Australia where the wickets will have a great deal of bounce.
4. Avesh Khan
The Madhya Pradesh pacer has been out of form since the T20I series against South Africa. There were several occasions where he has hit for runs against the Proteas and the Three Lions. The team has a lot of options in the pace department.
This is the reason he might be left if doesn't do well. He has been included in the squad of the West Indies series. This might be the last series to prove himself worthy for the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
5. Venkatesh Iyer
When he made his debut last November, he made himself an important part of the team in the middle-order. The left-hander was doing well till the Sri Lanka series. However, since the 15th season of the cash-rich league, things have changed drastically.
He was woefully out of form during the tournament which is why he had to be benched for a few games. The Madhya Pradesh player was included in the India squad for South Africa and England series. However, he didn't play in any of those games.
