In a good and relieving piece of news for cricket fans, their favorite game is back in one of the biggest carnivals of sporting competitions Commonwealth Games. Notably, a couple of months back, both CWG authorities and cricket’s governing council agreed on a note to introduce cricket again into the games. The last time, it was the year 1998 when cricket was played at the Commonwealth Games in Malaysia.
But this time, the format and structure of the cricket will be completely changed in comparison to that of the last time as it was played in the format of 50-overs men’s cricket. Whereas, this time the game will be played in women’s cricket format of 20-overs. Women’s teams of Eight renowned cricket-playing nations will lock horns for three medals namely gold, silver, and bronze.

Smriti Mandhana (India)
The 26-year-old Indian opener Smriti Mandhana has impressed everyone with her stellar performances. She is performing consistently well since her first international appearance for the Indian women’s team in 2014. Mandhana has played some exceptional knocks in crucial matches to win matches for her team.

Bates is serving the national side of New Zealand in cricket for the last 15 years. She has contributed a lot to her team since her first international appearance in women’s T20 internationals in 2007.
The 34-year-old experienced all-rounder can be proved vital for New Zealand both with her batting and bowling. Her excellent career figures and current form is also indicating the same. Considering her batting approach of her, bates can also end her campaign at the Commonwealth Games with some good numbers to her name.
Bismah Maroof (Pakistan)
The Lahore-based senior batting all-rounder and current skipper of the Pakistani team. Bismah Maroof hasn’t disappointed her side in crucial moments. Bismah played her first WT20I for the women in green three years after her international debut in 2006. Since then, the veteran Punjabi batter has scored runs with a fine average of 27.20 in the WT20 international cricket.
Speaking of her current form, then Bismah played an unbeaten knock of 32 runs. This knock helped her team to reach a respectable total against the strong Australian team. Although, the match ended without any result due to rain interruption.
