Recently, the Hindus celebrated the festival of Dussehra, the festival which represents the victory of virtue against evil. It is considered one of the holy and sacred festivals of Hindus. Many renowned celebrities did not delay in pouring out their heartfelt wishes to the citizens on the occasion of Dussehra.
In the same sequence, senior Indian cricket Mohammed Shami also joined this series of wishing Dussehra to fellow citizens. Notably, Shami is also in the headlines for the Indian team’s selections for the upcoming 20-20 World 2022 in Australia.
Coming back to his Dussehra post for Hindu fellow, Shami wrote, “On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, I pray that Lord Ram fills your life with lots of prosperity, success, and happiness. Wishing you and your family a very Happy Dussehra.” He also attached a photo of Lord Rama killing the sign of evil Ravana.

Although, Shami’s Dussehra wishes for the Hindus didn’t go down well with the people of his own religion. Islamic guys took no time in lashing out at Shami and accused him of going against the rules and norms of the religion.
Here’s how Islamist netizens reacted to Shami’s post:
Talking about cricket, then Shami is not a part of the national side of the Indian Cricket Team for a long period. Currently, there are also talks in the Indian cricketing corridors that Shami might replace the senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the 20-20 World Cup. For the unversed, Bumrah has been ruled out of the tournament due to an injury in his back.
Earlier, the Indian head coach Rahul Dravid had also talked about Shami and the possibility of him playing for the Indian team in the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup.
“Shami is obviously someone who’s in the standbys. Unfortunately for us, he couldn’t play in this series. It would’ve been ideal from that perspective, but he’s in the National Cricket Academy at the moment. We’ve to get reports as to how he’s recovering, and what’s his status after 14-15 days of COVID, and we’ll take a call. Once I get a report on how he’s feeling, then obviously we can really take a call on how to move forward on it,” said Rahul Dravid.
