The 22nd match of the Indian T20 League will have Chennai take on Bangalore at DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai on Tuesday. This will be the first time when these two sides will take on each other in the ongoing edition.
Bangalore are flying high in the tournament. After losing their first match, Faf du Plessis and Co. have registered three consecutive wins. With three wins in four matches, Bangalore currently find themselves at number three on the table. Bangalore are coming into this encounter on the back of a comfortable 7-wicket win over Mumbai.
On the other hand, Chennai, surprisingly, are languishing at the bottom of the table. They have made the worst ever start in the history of the tournament. Under the leadership of a new captain in Ravindra Jadeja, Chennai have lost all four matches played thus far. Ahead of the game on Tuesday, they would be keen to earn their first points in the tournament.
The fans are excited about some of the world-class cricketers taking on each other. Both teams have a number of match-winners present in the side. Meanwhile, Bangalore’s recent post with regards to the upcoming game has received loads of trolling from Chennai fans.
In their recent post on Twitter, Bangalore expressed their excitement about the game. The franchise’s social media handle wrote, ‘It’s time for IPL’s EL Clasico’.

Several Chennai fans trolled Bangalore for calling the game as ‘El Clasico’. Bangalore have never won a trophy in the history of the Indian T20 League. On the other hand, Chennai have as many as four titles to their name. Hence, calling it as IPL's El Classico meant Bangalore was only inviting trouble.
“El Clasico used for two best teams in the tournament, that is MI and CSK Always. How many trophies has RCB won?. Praising yourself is fine but over Praise with zero trophies,” wrote a Twitter user in reply to the post.
“El Clasico? Stay in your limits” wrote another Twitter user.
