England white-ball skipper Eoin Morgan is reportedly considering retirement from international cricket. The aggressive batter is leading the white-ball team since the 2015 ODI World Cup. The team had a disastrous tournament as they were knocked out in the first round itself. After the event, the team started playing a different brand of cricket. This aggressive brand was introduced by Morgan and the then ECB director, Andrew Strauss. The results started coming in the favour of the team as they became a feared ODI side.

However, they couldn't win the 2016 20-20 World Cup final and 2017 Champions Trophy semi-final. They had to wait for 2019 to win their first World Championship since 2010. Notably, the Ireland-born player was also part of the team. Meanwhile, three years after the glory, the 35-year-old is considering his retirement at the international level. According to a report by The Guardian, Morgan is set to retire from international cricket due to his poor form.

Recently, ahead of the Netherlands series, the 2019 World Cup-winning skipper had said that if he doesn't feel good enough for the team then he will retire.

“If I don’t think I am good enough or I don’t feel I am contributing to the team, then I will finish,” said the 2019 World Cup winner on Sky Sports Cricket.

The former Ireland player is struggling with form and fitness this year. In the series against the Dutch, he bagged two ducks before pulling out of the third ODI. He had sustained a groin injury ahead of the game. Notably, the left-hander played a corporate match on June 25. However, he has withdrawn from the scheduled appearance for the cricket charity Chance to Shine at a school in Hackney on June 28

Talking about the Three Lions' assignments this year, the team will play the 20-20 World Cup in Australia in October. They couldn't win the 2021 edition as they lost the semi-final game against New Zealand. If the 248-ODI veteran decides to hang his bat, Jos Buttler will be his successor. The keeper-batter has been the vice-captain for the team since 2015 and has led the team 13 times.
