After leaving Royal Challengers Bangalore and Indian Premier League 2023 due to an injury, Ace Australia pacer Josh Hazelwood is declared fit for the upcoming Test Championship finals. He will be available for selection against India and the subsequent Ashes series against arch-rivals England. Hazlewood, who was about to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, returned to Australia recently ahead of RCBs must-win game against Gujarat Titans.
However, on May 22, Cricket Australia officially announced that the 32-year-old pacer will be able to go to England for the next international matches and also will be available for the selection. "Josh Hazlewood returned home from the IPL last weekend after experiencing minor side soreness after the completion of his most recent IPL match," said Cricket Australia.
"After a brief and precautionary rest period, Hazlewood returned to high-intensity bowling last week and will continue to increase his bowling workloads in preparation for the WTC and Ashes series. Hazlewood is considered fit and available for the WTC and Ashes Series", they further added.
Experienced Josh Hazelwood will be key against India
Australia is set to face India in the Test Championship finals at the iconic Oval Cricket Ground in London from June 7. Meanwhile, the Aussies will face England in the prestigious Ashes series from June 16 to July 31. Notably, the two-time World Cup winner's presence will be a significant assist for the Aussie bowling attack when they face the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Cheteshwar Pujara at the Oval.
He is known for his precision and is frequently compared to the legendary Glenn McGrath.
Meanwhile, Hazlewood concluded his three matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 9 and bowled nine overs in the ongoing IPL, which saw his club eliminated by Gujarat Titans after a six-wicket loss in Bengaluru on Sunday night. RCB will look to come back stronger next year.
Here is how fans react to Hazelwood's injury:

#WTCFinal will start from 7th June. Some of the Indian players will travel to UK tomorrow. English conditions suit fast bowlers because of hazy weather. The ball seams and swings all day and will be a benefit for fast bowlers. Shami from Indian side and Hazlewood from Aussie side
