Bangalore continue to establish their domination in the Indian T20 league 2022. They managed to beat the in-form Lucknow by 18 runs. With this victory, the Faf du Plessis-led side became the second team to get to 10 points in the 2022 edition.
After being asked to bat first, Bangalore's top-order failed to impress once again. Lucknow's bowlers were right on the money. As a matter of fact, they took two wickets in the first over of the game itself. One of them happened to be that of Virat Kohli, who was dismissed for a duck.
They reduced the Bangalore-based franchise to 47-3 in the first six overs. However, their captain Faf du Plessis stood strong. After Suyash Prabhudessai's dismissal in the eighth over, the Proteas batter took matters into his own hands.
Faf then took the aggressive route and started to play the big shots. He went on to score a magnificent 96 from 64 balls. While his knock came at a strike rate of 150, it consisted of 11 fours and two sixes. He was unlucky to miss out on a hundred as he failed to clear the boundary, and was dismissed in the fifth ball of the 20 over. Nevertheless, his knock propelled Bangalore to 181-6 in the first innings. Jason Holder was the pick of the bowlers for Lucknow as he only gave 25 runs in his four overs, and also picked two wickets.
However, Faf was the star of the match, It is safe to say that he led from the front. As for the second innings, Lucknow lost their opener Quinton de Knock in the third over. Manish Pandey was quick to follow as he had to depart 13 balls later. As for their skipper KL Rahul, he was dismissed after scoring a 25-ball 30.
After which, Krunal looked good for his 28-ball 42 as he kept the Lucknow-based franchise in the game. However, the Rahul-led side kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. At the end, they fell short of their target by 18 runs. Josh Hazlewood had a memorable outing as he picked a wonderful four-fer. The fans took to Twitter to speak about the game. They went on to give their views on the same.

Hazlewood growth as a T20 bowler has been absolutely phenomenal... This is surely turning out to be a clinical win for RCB... The best part about this season has been that they aren't dependent on Kohli to deliver.. They're on a roll... #IPL2022 #RCBvLSG

RCB bowling has been fantastic today, variety in their attack is making it more difficult for the opposition in all phase of the game. Congratulations, RCB.

Good innings from Faf. Him being slow in the PP (15 off 17) was understandable today given the wickets lost, but then accelerated well in the middle overs, adding 53 off 31 (10.25 RPO) in the next 10 overs, when RCB scored 93. And then added 26 off the next 16 when the other end

The best thing about rcb this season is, no matter how many wickets we kept losing, the run rate was always very good post powerplay.

Cute love story. #RCBvsLSG
Would suggest RCB to bring in Lomror in place of Rawat and make Kohli open with faf!#IPL #IPL2022 #RCBvsLSG

Don't judge Faf's innings with the way he played. He stood there when biggies like Kohli & Maxwell dropped off. #RCBvsLSG #IPL

Jason Holder the death bowler has delivered now in all the games except against Rajasthan Royals. He met the don Hetmyer, one of the best in IPL at the moment.

Hazlewood is being as relentless as always in the PP. It’s unbelievable that he has bowled just a single half volley in PP in the last 3 IPLs. He is just so accurate with his lengths, seam or no seam movement, keeps hitting his spot.
