Pakistan skipper Babar Azam's tweet for Virat Kohli has gathered a lot of attention on social media in the last 24 hours. Besides, the likes of Shoaib Akhtar and Rashid Latif recently backed Kohli to overcome his poor form as well. In the last few months, the 33-year-old is having a forgettable time with the bat. In the Indian T20 League 2022, he could only score more than 300 runs in 16 games. In the ongoing England series, his batting has been forgettable so far. On the other hand, Kohli hasn't responded to the tweet.

Reacting to it, former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has criticized the former India skipper for not responding to Azam's tweet. Afridi said that a sport has the ability to improve relations between nations and a lot of athletes have done it.

“Be it cricket or any other sport, it improves relations (between countries). Athletes can do a much better job at it than politicians and a number of them are doing the same," Afridi told SAMAA TV.

The 2009 20-20 World Cup winner has added that he doesn't see Virat responding to the tweet.

“Babar has given across an incredible message. I don’t know if there has been a response from the other side. I think Virat should have responded by now. It would be a very big thing if there is a response to Babar’s tweet, but I don’t think that is going to happen," he added.

Meanwhile, the fans from both Asian countries have gone to appreciate Pakistan players for supporting the Indian batter. It is to be noted that Kohli will play his last game against England before going on a break.
