The 20-20 World cup is just one month away as the teams are finalizing their preparations for the big event. The defending champions and the hosts of the World Cup, Australia on Wednesday shared the first glimpses of their team jersey for the marquee tournament.
In a photo shared by ESPNCricinfo the Australian cricketers Mitchell Starc, Glenn Maxwell and Josh Hazlewood were seen donning the new kit for the tournament. The Australia team will be wearing an indigenous-themed kit, and they utilised three of their players to give their fans a good look at the new threads.
Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik also took notice of the new jersey and came up with a hilarious observation in the image. Karthik was quick to comment on the post and replied, “They need to choose players from other franchises too and not just the Bangalore franchise.”
Both Maxwell and Hazlewood represented the Bengaluru-based franchise in the Indian T20 League 2022, while Starc pulled out of the cash-rich league's most recent edition.
Karthik meanwhile also played for Bangalore and played a key role in the franchise's run to the playoffs in this year’s edition of the league.
Karthik’s stupendous performance paved the way for him to make a comeback in Team India. The 37-year-old batter has finally confirmed his berth in India's squad for the World Cup Down Under.
