'Desh se zyada important shadi' - Yashasvi Jaiswal set to replace Ruturaj Gaikwad in Test Championship final reserves on account of latter's wedding

Opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad will wed in the first week of June, it has been learned ahead of the Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023) final game. At Narendra Modi Stadium on May 28, CSK will square off against the reigning IPL winners Gujarat Titans (GT).

Gaikwad was one of the players on standby for the Test Championship 2023 final. He won't be going to London with the team today, and Yashasvi Jaiswal of Mumbai and Rajasthan Royals is expected to take his place. Gaikwad has notified the Indian Cricket Board that he will be getting married on June 3 or 4 and will not be able to travel with the squad to the United Kingdom for the final, according to a story in Indian Express.

As they prepare to name Yashasvi as Gaikwad's replacement, selectors are said to have instructed him to begin practicing with the red ball. From the Indian Cricket Board’s end, no announcement has been made thus far about the matter. It is anticipated that the board will give notice of the changes next week.

India and Australia will face off in the Test Championship 2023 Final at the Oval in London from June 7 to June 11. Two groups of Indian athletes will travel to the United Kingdom. A bunch of players who had finished their IPL season had already arrived in the UK and started preparations. Virat Kohli, Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur, and Axar Patel are some of the members of this group. Another group, which will include players for the final from the Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, and Chennai Super Kings, is anticipated to board a plane shortly.
