After yesterday's Miller special, the fans witnessed another high-scoring encounter between Rajasthan and Kolkata. It was the Sanju Samson-led side who managed to beat the two-time champions by seven runs. They have now won their fourth game of the Indian T20 league 2022. As for Kolkata, they need to buckle up as things seem to be going out of hand for them.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Kolkata's bowlers had no answers to Jos Buttler. The Englishman was hitting boundaries for fun. This 2022 edition has seen Buttler at his absolute best.
Fans were treated to a vintage knock of "Jos the Boss". He went on to score his second century of this season. Earlier on, he was well supported by his skipper Sanju Samson. The Kerala batter scored a handy 38 from 19 balls. Post his dismissal, it was the in-form Shimron Hetmyer who joined Buttler in the middle.
The Windies batter had the best seat in the house as he saw the English opener get to the three-figure mark. While Buttler scored a sensational 103, it came from just 61 balls. His knock included nine boundaries and six sixes.
Post his dismissal, Hetmyer once again provided a superb finish. As Kolkata had to chase a mammoth total of 218, it was never going to be easy for them. Moreover, Sunil Narine was out on the first ball of the second innings. However, Aaron Finch and Shreyas Iyer came together to bring up a 107-run partnership. The Aussie perished after scoring a 28-ball 58.
However, the Kolkata skipper continued to play his shots. He went on to score a brilliant 85 from just 51 balls. Yuzvendra Chahal then turned things towards Rajasthan's side as he took a hat-trick (Which included Iyer's wicket) that enabled him to pick an amazing fifer. Thus, Kolkata fell short of their target by seven runs. Twitter users were quick to talk about the match. They gave their personal opinions about the events that transpired during the game.
Here are some of the Tweets from today's game:
S Iyer - what a strong mind. Seeing the way he struggled and was mocked by SRH bowlers literally, I thought he might be done.

To back his game, and fight back. What a champ! Mentally the strongest among the current lot. More power to him! #IPL2022 #IPL #KKRvRR
KKR fans will still defend Cummins over Southee.

One good knock with the bat per season vs Overall better bowling performance. Is it that hard to choose?

Shreyas has clearly worked on his intent. Was visible during the WI & SL series too. And the numbers back to in the IPL as well. In 3 seasons between 2019 & 2021, he avged 33.1 for DC with a SR of 118.3 (7.09 RP0). This season, he has scored 200+ runs at a SR of 143.
