On Sunday, Prithvi Shaw himself put all the speculations to rest as he recently updated his fans about his whereabouts in an Instagram story. The Delhi opener is currently admitted in a hospitalized and is recovering from fever.
“Admitted in hospital and recovering from fever. Thank you all for your good wishes. Will be back in action soon,” the cricketer wrote in his story while also posting his smiling picture in the hospital.
Shaw isn’t part of the playing XI in the ongoing match between Delhi and Chennai, which means that he hasn’t fully recovered yet. Srikar Bharat has been given the opportunity to open the innings alongside David Warner. Meanwhile, the fans would be hoping that Prithvi Shaw recovers soon and make his way back into the playing XI.
The 22-year-old batter has had a decent outing in the ongoing edition of the Indian T20 League. In 9 matches, he has managed to score 259 runs at an average and strike rate of 28.78 and 159 respectively. Delhi are currently playing its 11th match against Chennai at DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai.
They are currently sitting at number five on the table. The upcoming matches are going to be crucial to their fortunes, as far as their race for the playoffs is concerned. Delhi put on a batting masterclass in the last game as they notched a huge score of 207 runs in the first innings against Hyderabad. Rishabh Pant and Co. won that game by 21 runs.
