Young Indian batter Prithvi Shaw is once again in the headlines of the Indian cricketing circuit as the Indian selectors have ignored him once again while selecting the squad for the T20 series against New Zealand. Speaking of Shaw’s recent form, he has impressed everyone with a stellar outing in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022.
Batting in 10 matches, the right-hander has scored three half-centuries and two centuries. Despite this, Indian selectors ignored this young batter. This unexpected decision from the selection committee didn’t go down well with some of the Indian cricket fans. They took no time to take over Twitter for lashing out at the Indian cricket Board and its attitude toward the players.
Here's how fans reacted to selectors’ ignorance of Prithvi Shaw:
We must be the greatest cricket playing nation ever if Prithvi Shaw is not good enough to get into an India squad in any of the formats, leave alone make the XI!

Dear Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan, don't lose hope. The world is not that bad as it currently seems.

Shubman Gill making the T20I squad ahead of Prithvi Shaw. The selections are literally a joke at this point.

If Prithvi Shaw doesn't play for India, its India's loss. Not his loss ! pic.twitter.com/x59ji4Mx5d

Picking Shubman Gill over Prithvi Shaw in T20is has to be one of the worst selection calls we have seen in recent times.

Prithvi Shaw not finding a place in any of India's T20 or ODI squad certainly shows that something is wrong.

Following his ignorance of the national squad of India, Shaw caught the attention of everyone’s eyeballs with his latest Instagram story. In his report, the Mumbai-born batter posted an image of Hindu God Sai Baba with the text, “Hope you are watching everything Sai Baba.”
Shaw’s story went viral on social media within minutes of being shared by him on the social media platform, Instagram.
Discussing a bit more about India’s tour of New Zealand, the men in blue will play this series against the Kiwis just after five days after the conclusion of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022. In a line of changes once again, star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is all set to lead the team once again after his successful assignment a few months back in June against Ireland. In that series, Pandya’s men registered a clean-sweep victory by a margin of 2-0 against the Irish team. Apart from that, young wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will be there to fulfill the responsibilities of Vice-Captain.
Young pace bowling sensation Umran Malik will also be part of schemes in the Indian squad for his white-ball assignment against New Zealand. Malik impressed and stunned everyone with his stellar performances in the 2022 edition of the Indian T20 League.
He also played under Hardik’s captaincy on India’s tour against Ireland for two T20Is played in the month of June.
