Recently, former Pakistani skipper and veteran all-rounder Shahid Afridi made it to the headlines of social media after his strange retirement advice to the former Indian skipper and senior batter Virat Kohli. Afridi happened to state that Kohli should bid adieu to international cricket at the peak of his career. He also said that the Indian batter should not reach the stage where the management drops him out of the team.

Although, the advice from Afridi didn’t go down well with veteran Indian spinner Amit Mishra and he smashed back at the Pakistani legend. Mishra happened to point out the multiple-time retirement decisions by Afridi.

Here’s what Afridi said on Kohli:

“The way Virat has played, the start that he had to his career, there was a struggle initially before he made a name for himself. He is a champion and I believe there comes a stage when you are headed towards retirement. But in that scenario, the aim should be to go out on a high,” said Afridi during a show on Samaa TV.

“It shouldn't reach a stage where you are dropped from the team and instead when you are at your peak. It seldom happens though. Very few players, especially cricketers from Asia Cup make that decision, but I feel when Virat does it, he will do it style and probably in the same manner in which he started his career,” he added later.

Following this statement from Afridi, former Indian spinner Amit Mishra came with his sarcastic reply to him.

“Dear Afridi, some people retire only once so please spare Virat Kohli from all this,” wrote Mishra in his tweet while mockingAfridi’s habitual retirements and comebacks.

It is not the first time when Amit Mishra made it to the headlines with his witty sense of humor. A few days back, he also slammed back England’s famous fan group Barmy Army when they happened to make fun of Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.
