‘DC ke against last ball pe yahi six chahiye tha!’ - Fans react to viral video of Rashid Khan playing street cricket ahead of RR clash in IPL 2023

Rashid Khan is currently busy playing in the ongoing IPL for Gujarat Titans (GT). However, he will be in action on 5 April 2023 when Rajasthan Royals (RR) will take on GT at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Now, ahead of that clash, a video has gone viral where the GT spinner was seen playing street cricket.

He was seen surrounded by some Indian fans as they were clicking pictures and recording videos of his batting. Seeing that, fans also shared their views on social media. However, Rashid Khan has enjoyed a good season so far. In nine matches, he has taken 15 wickets in nine matches.

"Rashid Khan has not been at his best.” - Simon Doull

Currently, Rashid is in the joint-third spot in the race for the Purple Cap this season. However, he picked up the first hat trick of this season against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Ahmedabad. But, the former New Zealand player, Simon Doull has not been impressed with his performances so far. While speaking to Cricbuzz, Doull claimed that Rashid’s economy has not been as impressive as it used to be this season. 

He said: "Rashid Khan has not been at his best. He has got wickets this year, but he has not been as economical and they have taken to the likes of him. They have taken Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy, they have taken to some spinners this year who have generally been okay."         

The GT spinner has taken 15 wickets so far at an economy of 8.56. However, GT have failed to use his batting abilities so far as he has scored only 16 runs. Speaking about Rashid’s whole IPL career so far, he has played 101 matches. In those matches, he has scored 329 runs while taking 127 wickets, at an overall economy of 6.27. Based on economy, his best season came in IPL 2020 when Rashid picked up 20 wickets in 16 matches, at an economy of 5.37.
