Rohit Sharma is currently getting ready to play for his Mumbai franchise in the upcoming Indian T20 League 2023. However, the workload of players has become a major issue as players are playing top-level cricket constantly. India have qualified for the WTC final and in October, they will look to win the ODI World Cup under home conditions. So, the team management might look to keep monitoring players and their workload during the tournament for their respective franchises.

"They are all adults. So they have to look after their body” - Rohit Sharma

Earlier reports came out that the Indian Cricket Board have told all franchises not to over-bowl bowlers in nets to manage the workload. They will be in constant touch with the franchise to keep an eye on those players. Meanwhile, another report from the Indian Express suggested that Rohit Sharma is looking to skip a few matches for Mumbai to manage his workload. He is eager to play in both major tournaments for team India without any injury. So, in his absence, Suryakumar Yadav will lead the franchise. Listening to such reports, fans were left confused and they shared their views on the social media platform.

Meanwhile, after the recent ODI series against Australia, Rohit Sharma opened up about the whole workload management of players during the competition. While speaking to the reporters, Rohit said: "I mean, it's all up to the franchises now. The franchises own them now, so we've given some indications or some kind of borderline kind of thing to the teams. But at the end of the day it's up to the franchise and, most importantly it's the players you know, they have to take care of their own body.”

"They are all adults. So they have to look after their body and just if they feel that it's getting a little too much, they can always talk about it and have a break in one or two games. I doubt that will happen but," the Mumbai skipper further added.
