The 19th match of the Lanka Premier League took place between Dambulla Aura (DMA) and B-Love Kandy (BLK). BLK won the toss and opted to field. DMA got off to a great start courtesy of Avishka Fernando who cracked 41 off 27 balls with three fours and three sixes. His opening partner Sadeera Samarawickrama made 31 off 26 balls with six fours.

The two gave a solid foundation and the score was 80-2 when both the openers departed. Lakshan Edrisinghe was foxed by Mujeeb Ur Rahman for just a run a ball 6 with one four. Then Ben McDermott came in at number four and made a quickfire 37 off 23 balls with three fours and two sixes. When he was caught off Ashen Bandara off Wanindu Hasaranga, there was a mini-collapse in the DMA ranks.

Dhanajaya de Silva picked up 4-6 in his four overs spell for Dambulla Aura

Dhananjaya de Silva was castled by Nuwan Pradeep and then overseas import Alex Ross perished in the same way for a two-ball duck. DMA needed some impetus for their innings to end on a high note. The franchise got that from Hayden Kerr who hit a much-needed 26 off 16 balls with three fours and one six. This enabled DMA to reach a competitive total of 162-7 in their 20 overs.

For BLK Pradeep had a good outing with the ball as he took 3-35 in his four overs. Mujeeb had a great four overs burst as well picking up 2-32. In the second innings, BLK did put up a fight with the bat. But, it was a rather odd batting performance from them. They got off to the worst possible start as the Pakistan openers Mohammad Haris and Fakhar Zaman were back in the hut with just 12 runs on the board.

Dinesh Chandimal made 50 off 46 balls with six fours coming in at number 3. But his innings were too slow and it took the sheen of BLK in the run chase. Other than Chandimal, Angelo Mathews and Isuru Udana made the 20s but it was not enough. In the end, BLK lost to DMA by 20 runs. For DMA with the ball, de Silva took 4-6 in his four-over spell and was the game-changer for his side.
