The most consistent team of the 20-20 World Cup 2022, New Zealand locked horns with Babar Azam’s Pakistan in the first semi-final of the tournament. Batting first after winning the toss, the Kiwi team managed to post a total of 152 runs for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Skipper Kane Williamson and all-rounder Daryl Mitchell were the only two batters who sojourned there in the middle for their team to keep the scoreboard moving.
But the star New Zealand batter Devon Conway who impressed everyone with his performance in the first match of the tournament against New Zealand failed to make an impact in an all-important semi-final match against Pakistan.
Conway could score only 21 runs off 20 balls with three boundaries to his name. This sluggish approach from the 31-year-old in such an important game against Pakistan gave a chance to some cricket fans the to come up with hilarious memes and mention the addition of Devon Conway in their virtual ‘Tuk-Tuk academy’.
Here’s a look at some memes fans came up with after Conway’s knock in the first semi-final against the men in green:
Sir Kane Williamson is also doing justice to his duty on the crease. He is making sure that the current run rate don't surge.

Furthermore, talking about the match, the Pakistan bowling attack gave some early blows to Kane Williamson’s New Zealand. Three big names including the likes of Finn Allen, Devon Conway, and Glenn Philips went back to the pavilion only on the team’s total score of 49 runs in 8 overs. Riding on the struggling partnership between skipper Williamson and all-rounder Daryl Mitchell, the Kiwis somehow managed to post a total of 152 runs for the loss of four wickets.
While defending the target of 153 runs, the Kiwi bowling attack was completely outmuscled by the star opening pair of Pakistan, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan. After enduring a long run of poor form, the duo stitched a partnership of 105 runs for the first wicket in 12.4 overs before the senior Kiwi pacer Trent Boult scalped the wicket of skipper Babar Azam.
Eventually, Pakistan won the match by seven wickets and Mohammad Rizwan ended up winning the ‘player of the match award for his brilliant knock of 57 runs with five boundaries.
