Riding on the struggling partnership between skipper Williamson and all-rounder Daryl Mitchell, the Kiwis somehow managed to post a total of 152 runs for the loss of four wickets.
While defending the target of 153 runs, the Kiwi bowling attack was completely outmuscled by the star opening pair of Pakistan, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan. After enduring a long run of poor form, the duo stitched a partnership of 105 runs for the first wicket in 12.4 overs before the senior Kiwi pacer Trent Boult scalped the wicket of skipper Babar Azam.
Eventually, Pakistan won the match by seven wickets and Mohammad Rizwan ended up winning the ‘player of the match award for his brilliant knock of 57 runs with five boundaries.
