Rohit Sharma-led team India is currently on the receiving end of harsh criticism following a defeat in the ODI series against a lower-ranked team like Bangladesh. Although skipper Sharma himself tried his best to cross the finishing line he fell short of the target despite all his efforts.
Recently, talking about the Indian team’s decline in white-ball cricket, former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt has come up with a sort of crystal-clear analysis. He also went a bit hard while analyzing the reasons for the recent downfall of the men in blue.
The 38-year-old stated that the Indian team hasn’t designed and defined the exact roles for the players and a lot of experimenting has come up with a negative impact on their outing in international cricket.
“Rohit Sharma got injured and Virat Kohli opened. But you have a regular opener in KL Rahul, why did he not open? Some will argue that Rahul had kept wickets, but there have been a lot of players who have opened for the side after keeping wickets, like Gilchrist, Sangakkara, and Quinton de Kock. Is Rahul not as fit as them? It's very weird,” said Butt in a recent video on his YouTube channel.
Here's what Salman Butt said:
“There's something wrong with the thought process or the role definition. Cheezein settled Nahi Hain. Aisa lagta hai ki practice chal rahi hai,” he added later.
Reacting to the analyses of Butt, fans also looked to agree with the latter, “Your analyses are always banged on,” read the comment of a fan followed by a comment from another fan that, “Salman Butt is a real intellectual in cricket.”
Now, the men in blue will take on the hosts Bangladesh in the last and third ODI of the ODI series. Currently, Litton Das & co. are leading the series by a winning lead of 2-0.
