Moeen Ali came out of retirement in the longest format of the game as he made a comeback to the Test format. He is currently busy playing in the ongoing first Ashes Test at Edgbaston. In 2021, he took retirement but still, has managed a decent game with both the bat and the ball. On day two, he also picked up two wickets.
But, on day three, news came out that the star all-rounder has been fined 25% of his match fees for breaching the Apex Council of Cricket’s Code of Conduct. He was seen applying a drying agent to his bowling hand at the boundary line during fielding. Listening to such news, fans shared their views on social media.
Moeen Ali got the wicket of Cameron Green with a ripper of a delivery
Speaking about his return to the red-ball format, the Managing Director of England Men’s Cricket, Rob Key said: “We reached out to Mo (Moeen Ali) early this week about returning to Test cricket. Having had a couple of days to reflect, Mo is excited to join the squad and play Test cricket again. His vast experience, along with his all-round ability, will benefit our Ashes campaign. We wish Mo and the rest of the squad well for the Ashes campaign.”
Speaking of the match, with the bat, he scored 18 runs off 17 balls, including two fours and one six. While with the ball, he has taken two wickets so far.
