Yashasvi Jaiswal made his Test debut remarkable by hitting a maiden century on day two of the ongoing First Test between India and the West Indies. On day two, all eyes were on him as he started the day with an overnight score of 40* runs. But, he finished the day with 143* runs and fans were elated after seeing the knock.

After the day’s play, Jaiswal had an interaction with the media and he heaped high praises on Rohit Sharma. He also thanked the team management for the opportunity he had to play for the Men in Blue. Listening to such comments, fans came up and shared their views on social media. 

“I love Test cricket, I like this challenge” - Yashasvi Jaiswal

In a video shared by the Indian Cricket Board, Jaiswal said: "I think this is one of the emotional knock for me, it's difficult to get opportunities in the Indian team, I would like to thank everyone, the supporters, team management and Rohit bhai".

"The pitch is on the slower side and the outfield is very slow, it was difficult and challenging, it was pretty hot and I wanted to keep doing it for my country, just play ball-by-ball and enjoy my cricket. I love Test cricket, I like this challenge, I enjoy the situation when the ball swings and seams. We have worked hard on everything, I've just gone out to express myself. Was an emotional moment (to hit a century), was just proud of myself, thankful for everyone, this is just a start and I want to do well going further."

In a chat with the Vimal Kumar YouTube channel, Jaiswal opened up about how Rohit was helping him throughout his innings in the middle inn understanding the conditions. He said: "Rohit Sharma was talking to me throughout the innings and making me understand how to play here. We had good communication, he told me before the game that 'you've to do it, you're the guy'. It gave me confidence".
