On 6 August 2023, the stage was set for the final of the Global T20 (GT20) Canada Season 3 as Montreal Tigers (MT) took on Surrey Jaguars (SUJ) in Brampton. SUJ qualified for the final after defeating Vancouver Knights (VK) in Qualifier 1. While MT first defeated Brampton Wolves (BW) in the eliminator. Then, they defeated VK in Qualifier 2 and qualified for the final.

Speaking of the match, MT skipper. Chris Lynn won the toss and opted to field first. For SUJ, Mohammad Haris and Jatinder Singh came out as openers. Haris got out after scoring 23 runs off 22 balls while Jatinder scored 56* runs off 57 balls, including three fours. Aayan Khan was another batter who scored 26 runs off 15 balls, including two sixes and finally, they scored 130 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. 

MT defeated SUJ by 5 wickets in the final of the GT20 Canada 2023 Season 3   

For MT, Aayan Afzal Khan took two wickets for 21 runs in four overs while Andre Russell, Abbas Afridi, and Carlos Brathwaite grabbed one wicket each. Then, for the chase, Muhammad Waseem came out to open the innings with Lynn but he got out after just three balls without opening the score. Lynn scored 31 runs off 35 balls, including three fours and one six. After that at one stage, they were in trouble losing four wickets for 61 runs in 11.4 overs.

Then, Sherfane Rutherford remained not out on 38 runs off 29 balls, including three fours and two sixes. But, in the last over, they needed 13 runs and the first ball went for a single. Then, Russell hit a six on the second delivery followed by two singles and a two. Then, on the last delivery, they needed just two runs and the star West Indies all-rounder hit a six to win the game for MT. Thus, they won the final by five wickets and Sherfane Rutherford won the Player of the Match award. He also bagged the Player of the Tournament award for scoring 220 runs.
