'Can someone explain' - Fans lashes out at the Indian cricket board for ignoring Mohammed Shami in the squad of Asia Cup

India has announced their squad for the upcoming Asia Cup which is commencing on the 27^th of August and later at the end of this month. Six teams will play in this continental tournament in the United Arab Emirates. Coming back to the Indian squad, then there are a couple of changes in the team to that of the squad in the last T20I series.

Senior batter KL Rahul is back in the team alongside former skipper and senior batter Virat Kohli. Apart from this, senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah is all set to miss the tournament due to his back injury.

Other than these additions and omissions, the ignorance of the selectors towards senior pacer Mohammed Shami hasn’t gone well with the Indian cricket fans. They took to Twitter for criticizing the Indian cricket board’s ignorant attitude. Notably, the selectors have picked up Avesh Khan instead of Shami.

Speaking of some other selections in the squad, then young pacer Arshdeep Singh has got a first big break for any major tournament. He will replace the senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the squad. There are also very fine possibilities that he might get a chance to feature in the playing XI of India in the Asia Cup 2022.

Recently, the men in blue played the five-match T20I series against the West Indies. Senior pacer Mohammed Shami was not a part of the team in this series. And the selectors have ignored him again while picking up the squad for the Asia Cup. They have given a chance to Avesh Khan instead of going with the experienced pacer.

Avesh Khan has not had that many impressive outings in a recent couple of matches and picking him over Mohammed Shami has drawn the criticism of fans and experts towards the Indian cricket board.
