Earlier, Virat Kohli completed his 72nd international century in the third and last of the three-match ODI series against Bangladesh.  He surpassed the former Aussie great Ricky Ponting to become the second batter in the world with the highest number of international centuries. He is now only behind the former legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar who had 100 international centuries to his name.

Now, the former skipper could be in action with the Indian team in the upcoming home series against Sri Lanka starting from the 3rd of January.

Following the conclusion of the series against Sri Lanka, India will also host New Zealand in a white-ball assignment.

Apart from that, the upcoming season of cricket is going to be very hectic for the Indian team as they will lock horns with Australia in a full-fledged four-match Test series against Australia in February next year.
