The 10th game of the Indian T20 league 2022 between Gujarat and Delhi was topsy-turvy, to say the least. It was hard to predict where the match was heading as every minute saw a twist. However, Gujarat defeated Delhi in a comprehensive fashion and thus, became the second team to win their first two games.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Delhi managed to pick a wicket on the third ball, and dismissed Matthew Wade. Despite not picking another wicket, they continued to control the flow of runs as Gujarat scored 44 runs without losing any other batters in the first six overs. However, Shubman Gill stood strong.
He looked absolutely sensational as he struck some eye-pleasing shots. Yet, Vijay Shankar lost his wicket in the first ball of the seventh over. After which, Gill joined hands with his skipper Hardik Pandya to steady the ship.
While the all-rounder had to depart after scoring 31, Gill continued to play the big shots. Contrary to his critics, the opener was batting with a high strike rate, and played an aggressive brand of cricket. He ended up scoring a superb 84 from just 46 balls. His knock included six fours and four sixes.
Gujarat ended up scoring a decent score of 171-6 in the first innings. Post which, Delhi's opener tried to take the aggressive route but lost their wickets in the process. Despite continuously losing wickets, the Rishabh Pant-led side kept playing their shots.
As far as Gujarat's bowling is concerned, then Lockie Ferguson was the pick as he took a breathtaking four-fer. His third over changed the complexion of the match as he took two wickets in it. At the end, Delhi fell short of their target by 14 runs. Gujarat closed the game in a clinical manner.

Regardless of the result here, Hardik's decision to go with 15, 16, 17th over by Lockie & Rashid was a brilliant move. With 54 needed of last 6 overs, with 6 wickets in hand, bowling your best bets was the right way to go. In the worst case, it would have ensured game going deep
