He’s often been criticized for his slow batting but the recent series in Australia have ensured that everyone knows the importance of Cheteshwar Pujara in the Indian team. Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg has now predicted that Cheteshwar Pujara will play around 1000 balls in the series against England.
"(Cheteshwar) Pujara, I reckon, is going to play some 997 balls for the series in these four Test matches. Dig in, and watch him block away," Brad Hogg said on his youtube channel.
Cheteshwar Pujara held fort for India in the Border-Gavaskar trophy and was the second highest run scorer for the visitors, scoring 271 runs in 4 Tests. India have been very dominant and have lost just one Test in the last 8 years. They’ve not lost a Test series in India since 2012. Taking about the India vs England series, Brad Hogg declared India as clear favourites for the series.
"I am looking at both the lineups and thinking that India are way too good for England. I think they are going to win this first Test match and the series quite comfortably and end up playing New Zealand in the World Test Championship Final later on," Brad Hogg stated.
