India pacer Umesh Yadav lit up his team's abysmal innings in the third Test against Australia. He came out to bat after the fall of the eighth wicket in the form of Ravichandran Ashwin. With only 88 runs on the board and a difficult wicket on offer, the 2013 Champions Trophy winner decided to add some quick runs. The right-arm pacer scored 17 off just 13 balls including two sixes.

Even though his inning didn't help much, it filled some entertainment in what was a forgettable inning. After winning the toss for the first time in the series, the home team decided to bat first. After the first six overs, the introduction of spin brought difficulties for the Rohit Sharma-led side. All of their 10 wickets fell to spin with Matthew Kunhemann picking his maiden five-wicket haul.

In reply, the Aussies have reached 156/4 with Ravindra Jadeja taking all wickets so far. For the visitors, Usman Khawaja scored a fifty before getting out trying to play a slog sweep.

Speaking on his innings, he said "Played to my plans, tried to score when there was an opportunity and kept out the good balls. Not rocket science, honestly. Not an easy wicket out there. Spin-friendly wicket, it felt tough the whole time and I don't expect it to get better. I used the sweep intermittently when I needed to today, did the similar thing last week. It's just another arsenal in your repertoire. It's hard enough out there, bowler keeps you guessing, I was trying to keep them guessing too. It was a bit of a cat and mouse."
