Pakistan vice-captain Mohammad Rizwan has called for a break from international cricket before the T20 World Cup. Rizwan revealed that living in the bio-bubble puts everyone under mental pressure thus a break is necessary for the players to come back fresh for the showpiece event.
If reports are to be believed, Pakistan management is thinking about resting Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and pacers Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali for their upcoming ODI series against Afghanistan in Sri Lanka. Both PCB and ACB are likely to release the itinerary for the series soon.
"It is not easy remaining in the bio-bubble all the time and we have been playing a lot of cricket in the last one year and more. It is good for us but at the same time it becomes a mental strain on the players as well," he said during a virtual session on Thursday (August 19).

Rizwan further shed light on Pakistan’s disappointing loss in the first Test against West Indies. The wicketkeeper-batter said coming so close and losing the match was a massive heartbreak.
"The bottomline is we lost the Test after coming so close to winning it and it hit us and we are now looking to bounce back strongly in the second Test," he said.
Rizwan also said that playing a short two-match series can sometimes be challenging as it's difficult to give players a long run. He was referring to Imran Butt, who had a disappointing outing in the first Test.
